She was of the Protestant faith and had previously worked as a custodian at Northwest Missouri State University.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Wilmes in 1987 and former husband, Frank L. Spurgin in 2004.
She is survived by her loving children: Matt Spurgin and wife Tina, Pickering, Cathy Day and husband Bill, Skidmore, Lynette Patterson and husband Brad, Graham, and Brenda Blakeslee and husband Lee, St. Joseph; brothers; Charles Coonce and wife Margaret, Groveland, Illinois, Billy Coonce, Columbia, Tennessee; sisters, Mildred Cason, Nashville, Tennessee, Alma Holloway, Lancaster, California, and Liz Jenkins, Gainesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren; Dustin and Julie Day, T.
