obit - Funeral Rites Slated Today At Morton For Elijah N Darland - Morton - March 5, 1950 - Funeral services are to be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Morton for Elijah Newton Darland, 67, who died in his home here Saturday afternoon. Rev. W. C. Wright, pastor of the First Baptist Church here, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Morton Cemetery under direction of Singleton Funeral home. Survivors include three sons, Bert and Olin, both of Morton, and Jessie of Blythe, California; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Fannie of Lincoln, Ark.; two brothers, Shannon of Burkburnett and Preston of Electra; two sisters, Mrs Mark Simmons of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Sally Shaver of Okalhoma City; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. - From Lubbock paper
