Death of Edward Bierman
John Edward Bierman, a well known resident of this village and township, died Thursday at the home of his son Edward and wife on Elm Street. Mr. Bierman had been sufferer from Bright's Disease for some time, but had been around i as good health as usual, being out Monday night to witness the Halloween Festival. The immediate cause of death was edema of the lungs.
Mr. Bierman was born in Baierbronn, Wurttenburg, Germany, November 20, 1852, being almost 64 years of age at the time of his death. in early youth he came to this country and located in Pittsburgh. June 2, 1881, he was united in marriage with Miss Lizzie Catharina Sommers and soon after they moved to Leetonia, where he worked in the Furnace. About 25 years ago they moved to a small farm south of town. He was a member of the local Lutheran Chursh and a man highly respected by a host of friends. He is survived by four children; Edward F, Harry W, Miss Ada , E and Mrs. J S Rupert all living in this vicinity
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from te home of his son Edward, Re. C D Fisher being the officiating clergyman, and interment was had in the Columbiana Cemetery.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Mary Krebs and three sons, Mr and Mrs Ed Bierman, Mr and Mrs Wm Bierman and two sons Mrs Wm Tagge, all of Pittsburgh.

Note: The 1900 census records state Edward John Beirman living in Columbiana Co born in PA. Other records state born Germany. Not sure of birthplace.

Comparing notes - at familysearch.org, the incorrect death certificate image appears for Edward Beirman. They are working on correcting the problem and sent a copy of certificate to poster. Informant on certificate was Harry W Bierman - he stated father of Edward was born in Germany, however had no information on his mother. Harry W Bierman also stated his father was born 1853, so not sure of correct year other than comparing to census records.

John Edward Bierman and Marie Weissinger Bierman. He was born in Baiersronn, Wurtenberg, Germany on the 20th of Nov 1852. He came to America in his early youth. He married Jun 2, 1881. His wife Elizabeth Catherine was born in Pittsburg Pa.

June 1, 2012 - copy of original land contract from Jacob Booth to Edward and Lizzie K Bierman Nov 2, 1884 - describing Sec 26 SW quarter formerly owned by Wm Blackburn, decd and bought by Sarah Phillips of Chas Blackburn, one of the heirs of Wm Blackburn and Jacob Booth - 25 acres. more to be posted. We believe this property is where Miss Lulu Bierman grew up and located on (699 Fairfield Ave in Columbiana.)- described in obituary as "south edge of town"

Land Contract made with Jacob Booth for 25 acres for $2400. to be paid in annual payments to Sarah Phillips.
