Bill had three half-siblings: Mary Elizabeth (Ross), Teresa, and Joseph Edward. Teresa died in childhood of diphtheria at the tender age of two. In 1950 when his widowed aunt passed away, his first cousin Kevin Luke Drury was adopted by the family and raised as his brother.
Bill served in the U.S. Naval submarine fleet during WWII as a Quartermaster, third class (QM3). After retiring from the Navy, Bill received a BS in Accounting from Southwestern University, Los Angeles, California. He married his wife Dorothy Rose Critten on June 27, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they settled in Anaheim, California. Together they had four boys - Michael Eugene, William Edward, Patrick Elliot, and James Evan. Bill worked as a certified public accountant and analyst for General Motors, Rheem Manufacturing, American Electronics, and Nortronics. He also ran his own public accounting firm and worked as a controller for a division of Colt Industries and Freeborn Equipment.
Bill passed away on July 4, 1981 at the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, California due to a heart attack and prior complications of a stroke. He was only 58 years old and is dearly missed by his family.
