Casper Beiriger was the 10th child of Matthias and Anna Maria (Kiefer) Beiriger. According to the church records of St. John Evangelist Caspar Beircher was born on January 28 in 1848 (death certificate 26 January 1848); baptized on February 24 the same year. His First Communion in 1861. His early years were spent in Brunswick, Indiana where he worked as a blacksmith in a shop with a Mr. Hildenbrndt; he later farmed, and then painted after he retired. We were unable to locate the marriage record for Elizabeth Hart, born on the 10th day of December in 1851, and Casper so we are guessing around 1869. Feburary 8th,1871 Casper purchased 1 acre of land for a $1000. By 1872 Casper and Elizabeth welcomed Edward Michael into their family. On March 10, 1873 Casper & Elizabeth along with some of his siblings; George, Nicholas, Joseph & Gesina, and his sister Anna and Peter Bohr sold 30 acres to their brother Mathias for $ 1000. In 1974 Casper and Elizabeth (Hart) gave Edward a sister, Rosena; later that same year on December 26 1874, for the sum of $2000. Casper & his wife Elizabeth, Peter & his wife Catharine, John & his wife Mary, Henry Schulte & his wife Mary, Nicholas, Jacob & his wife Ellen, Joseph & his wife Gesina, Peter Bohr & his wife Anna, and George sold the land from their father estate to their brother Mathias. Casper would buy 1 acre & 33 9/10ths rod on March 26, 1875; on March 14, 1876 he sold 1 acre 33 9/10th rod. On April 22, 1877 Casper's wife Elizabeth passed away and is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dyer, Indiana according to the church obituary.
By August 20th in 1878 Casper exchanged vows with Elizabeth Greiving, born November 14, 1853 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, they were married at St. Joseph Church in Dyer, Indiana.
On June 19th, 1880 Casper was supporting his new wife and his two children while being a blacksmith. To the Beirigers -Casper & Elizabeth (Greiving), were born twelve children, four of whom spent most of their lives in and around Dyer.
Casper bought 6 acres on March 18, 1882 in Hanover Township, Indiana for $360.; May 6, 1882 for $55.00 for 95/100ths of an acre; obtained another 6 acres of land for $360.00 on November 2, 1882; on October 4, 1902 Casper is residing in Will County, and has bought Lots #5 to 21 in the Harts Addition in the town of Dyer, Indiana. Thoughout the years Casper had numerous Real Estate transactions that haven't been listed. The April 26, 1910 Census shows that Casper in now painting. By January 27, 1920 he has retired. His last will was recorded on March 23rd, 1926. On September 28, 1920 Casper made his final purchase. Casper passed away on the 28th day of Feburary in 1926 in Dyer, Indiana according to his death certificate, his obituary in the Lake County Star of Crown Point, Indiana, under Dyer Items, last paragraph, he passed away at St. Margaret's hospital in Hammond, Indiana. His burial was on March 4th, 1926 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Dyer, Indiana.
