PFC Charles Edward Alston, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Raleigh, NC.

Private First Class Charles Edward Alston was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, PFC Alston served our country until January 25th, 1966 in South Vietnam. He was 24 years old and was not married. It was reported that Charles died when his plane crashed. His body was recovered. PFC Alston is on panel 04E, line 086 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 2 years.

He was the Son of Mrs Mary F Lane, 214 Camden Street, Raleigh.

He served with Alpha Company, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division(AMBL), USARV.

He was awarded The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
