W. G. "Dub" Burdine, 72, of Memphis, formerly of Belen, retired bricklayer and woodcarver, died Tuesday, January 21, 1997, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis of heart failure.
 
Services were at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, at Garner-Harper Chapel in Grenada with burial in Oddfellow Cemetery at Grenada. Rev. Donald Ballard officiated.
 
Mr. Burdine was a former Boy Scout leader of Troop 112 in Marks, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Memphis, and a longtime member of Bricklayer Local #1 of TN (union).
 
He is survived by his wife, Faye Mitchell Burdine of Memphis; one son, W. N. Burdine of Ohio; one step-son, Frank Walkup of Pineville, LA; five grandchildren, Frank Walkup IV of Pineville, LA, Franz Ulrick Walkup, Mitchell Walkup, Kevin Walkup, and Nina Tatiana Walkup, all of Reutlingen, Germany.
 
The family has requested any memorials be sent to Camp Tallaha, the Boy Scout camp at Charleston.
