Graveside services for Irma Jeanne Crown, 87,Lawrence, Kansas, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas. A family visitation will be held at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Monday, prior to the graveside services. She died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 25, 1926 in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur E and Ethel Hickock Shields. She had lived her entire life in Lawrence.
Irma Jeanne was a graduate of Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence and attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence and a member of the Alter Guild at church. She was also a volunteer for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She married John P Crown on January 30, 1944 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2009.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Meuffel and her husband, Dennis, Lawrence; one son Robert A and his wife Carole Crown, Lawrence; three grandchildren, Jennifer Meuffel and her husband, Jeff Vigneron, Paul Crown and Erika Crown.
The family suggest memorial contributions in her name to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and be sent in care of the mortuary.
