Gladys had had tuberculosis and it was in remission (if that's the right word) and then it came back, eventually taking her life in 1939 while she was living with her Mother, Zonie Turner Earthman-Price and her Step-Father, Walter Lee Price on a screened in porch at their home and turkey farm in Fountain, CO (just south of Colorado Springs).
