ALBEMARLE, Dec. 18 -- Thomas Denton (sic) Carpenter, 70, died this morning at his home, Marshville, Route 2, after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Pleasant Grove church. Mr. Carpenter, a retired farmer, is survived by 11 children, Mrs. Brooks Stewart of Marshville, Route 2, Mrs. Connie Carpenter of Marshville, Mrs. Horace Yandle of Monroe, Jack, Roy, Jeff, Bell, Friss, Ned, Wade and Cecil Carpenter, all of Marshville, a brother, Bill Carpenter of Peachland, also survives.
