Beloved husband of Margaret Matteson; dear father of Dawn George, Teresa Roman, Lynn (Kenny) VanHorn, Denise Manchester, Jenny (Bill) Sharplin, George W. (Kim) Matteson, Jr. and the late Katherine Matteson; brother of Norrine Nichols and Victor Matteson; also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. George was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, W.W. II and a member of the Sault St. Marie Chippewa Tribe.
