Slawomir Anthony Luczak, 61, of Worcester, died Thursday, December 25, 2008, after a short illness in UMass Memorial, 55 Lake Ave., North. He leaves his wife of thirty-three years, Irena (Gawrych) Luczak; a daughter, Renata Luczak of New York, NY. and nieces and nephews. He was born in Bayreuth, Germany a son of Jozef and Halina Luczak and immigrated to the United States in 1949.

Mr. Luczak worked in the Research and Development Division of David Clark Co., as an assistant manager of scheduling and material control for 31 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp. He graduated from St. Mary's High School and the College of the Holy Cross. He was an avid reader and chess player. He was a member of the United States Chess Federation and won several competitions and trophies. Slawomir was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 30, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St. Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, December 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
