Cyril Addison Kidd was the son of Frederick Robert and May Kidd and husband of Jane Elizabeth Kidd, of 325 Longmoor Lane, Aintree, Liverpool.
He was air gunner on 138 Sqn Halifax II Bomber BB364 NF-R operating from RAF Tempsford, Bedfordshire. They were on a container dropping exercise over RAF Henlow Airfield, when in poor weather conditions they collided with the brick chimney of Arlesey Brickworks, SE of Henlow, killing all on board.

His friend and fellow crew member Sgt AG John Mooney was also killed in the aircraft, he is buried in Ford cemetery, Liverpool.
