Charles served with the 13th (1st North Wales Pals) Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers. He was the husband of Nellie Breden nee Hopkins, of 159, Towson St, Everton, Liverpool.


He was wounded at Pilkem Ridge during the Battle of Passchendaele 1917 and evacuated to the 2nd Western General Hospital, Manchester where he died of wounds on 30th Sept 1917.
