James Perry Moore was the son of Franklin J. Moore and Emily Miller. James married Ida Alice Schock on 08 Apr 1891 near Akron, Cowley County, Kansas.

James Perry Moore, 78, a resident of Winfield and community since 1880, died Thursday night at 11:30 at his home at 1002 east Eleventh. Mr. Moore had been in failing health for several years, but his death was attributed to a heart attack suffered last Saturday.

He was born in Bridgetown (sic), Ind, December 19, 1866, and came to Winfield in 1880; for a number of years worked as a millwright at local mills. For 13 years he operated a general store at Akron, and later went to a farm south of Akron where he lived for 25 years, retiring August 1, 1944.

He was married to Ida A. Shock in 1891 who, with two children Perry S. Moore, Hugoton, and Mrs. Hazel Milvers (sic) of Caldwell survive. Seven brothers and sisters also are living. They are Mrs. Lounettie Schock of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Hattie Wilkinson of South Haven; Mrs. P. S. McMullen, Norwich; Edward E. Moore, Wellington; Mrs. W. H. Nunnemaker, Victoria, Tex.; and Riley W. Moore, Denver, Colo., also three grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 from the Morris Funeral home. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery.
