Mary McDaniel was the daughter of John and Mary (Hopkins) McDaniel. Her parents were born in South Carolina, first living in South Carolina near the PeDee River, and then moving to Tennessee where Mary was born. Three sisters Sally, Betsey, and Hester. Five brothers William, John, Hampton, Austin and Jesse.


Mary McDaniel married George W. Cluck, Sr. on January 16, 1852, so says the family bible and her marriage certificate. Five children Amanda J. Cluck May 29, 1854, William M. Cluck, May 6, 1857, John L. Cluck, Oct. 1, 1860, Casander A. Cluck, April 16, 1862 and George W. Cluck, Jr. February 2, 1866, so says the family record in the family bible.
