The funeral service for Arch Hunt was held in the chapel of Anderson-Clayton Bros. at 4:00 o'clock Friday afternoon with Dr. T.J. Doss, pastor of the First Baptist church, conducting the service. Interment was made in Oakland Memorial park. Active pallbearers were selected from among his friends in the community in which he had lived for more than a half-century.
Arch Hunt was a native of Kaufman county, born at Legg's Prairie, Feb. 25, 1860. He married Miss Emma Skates in February, 1888, to which union four children were born, two of whom together with his wife, preceded him in death. Surviving him are two sons: John Wesley Hunt of South Rochester, Corbin Hunt of Boyd, Texas; twenty-seven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; one brother, Vincent Hunt of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. John Howard of Mabank, Texas; and other relatives.
Mr. Hunt was a member of the Baptist church, having attended the services at the little South Side church on South Rockwall over a long period.
