WILLIAM LILLIAN KILLED BY LIGHTNING BOLT

A wind and electrical storm of terrific force hit in several places in the west, north and southwest portions of the County late Monday afternoon, causing the death of William Lillian, prominent farmer living southwest of town, Mr. Lillian was working in a neighbors field, together with other workers threshing wheat. A shower came up about 3:00 o'clock and before Mr. Lillian could reach shelter he and his team of horses were struck by a bolt of lightning and were instantly killed, This sad occurrance has thrown a sudden gloom over the entire community, as he has made his home here so many years, and was highly respected by his friends and neighbors.

Carl William Lillian was born in this locality April 3, 1875 and passed away at his home southwest of Lindsborg, Kansas, Monday July 6, 1925 at the age of 50 years, three months and three days.

Mr. Lillian was a prominent farmer living on his old home farm southwest of town. He was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the I.O.O.F Lodge of this city. He took an active part in Community work and was well respected by his many friends and neighbors.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, five sons, two daughters, his aged mother, six sisters and two brothers, other relatives and a host of friends,

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10th, from the home at 1:30 P.M. and from the Messiah church at 2:30 P.M. The Rebekah Lodge and the Subordinate Lodge will attend the funeral services at the church as a body. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery.
