Married Austin "Morgan" Beeson 7 Jun 1879 Wabash, Indiana
Had two daughters Ona Viola 1881-1968 & Mayme F 1883 - ?
After Calista's passed away, her daughters went to live with their Dad Morgan's Mother Mary A Parker, Beeson, Stickler.
It is rumored that Mayme died young.
Ona married just before her 17th birthday.
Two newspaper articles of Calista's life married to Morgan.
One of the most pitiable sights that has come before the public eye of our city, was Mrs. Beeson, a young woman, wife of the Morgan Beeson of notoriety, who has become deranged to some extent; subject to fits, and who is in a perfectly destitute condition. Tuesday evening she came up street after having been driven from her home from the brutal husband, so far as we could learn, and after wandering about a while came to Burley & Barsh's drug store where she sat upon the steps until she was finally provided with night's care by one of our citizens. As we went to press yesterday, arrangements were being made to send her to the poor house. If reports be true, the poor woman has been shamefully treated at the house and hands of the ought-to-be husband, a great part of which perhaps is due to the mental difficulty. In the language of Mrs. Molloy, "if she was a dog the law would protect her." North Manchester Journal, Oct. 13, 1881.
Mrs. Morgan Beeson, was adjudged insane, and conveyed to the County Poor house last Saturday morning, to which she had been sent a time or two before by Trustee J.P. Noftzger, but taken away by Beeson. The woman had been cared for from Tuesday night until Saturday morning, until able to be removed, by W.H. Harris, who is entitled not only to remuneration; but much credit for volunteering to care for her. He was paid by the trustee. (North Manchester Journal; Oct. 20, 1881)
