T. Edwin Bell graduated from the Philadelphia Dental College, Philadelphia, PA on Friday, Feb. 24, 1888.

T. E. Bell was the son of John Bell and Ellen McKechnie. At the age of sixteen, he became an employee on the Grand Trunk Railroad in the locomotive department. After a few years he began the study of dentistry. He graduated from the Old Dental College of Philadelphia in 1887 and came to Hammond, Lake Co., Indiana on March 7, 1888. He applied for his Intention for Natualization in April 1888 and became naturalized in May 10, 1892 at Hammond, IN. He was Coroner of Lake Co. from 1893 to 1895, Chairman of the Republican County Central Committee in 1896, and elected State Senator in 1902 for 4 years. In 1890, he was appointed deputy oil inspector for a number of years. He was director of the Northern Indiana Trust & Savings bank and was president of the Miller Land Company. He was the Treasurer of the Lake County Oil Co. operating in the oil fields of Oklahoma. He was the first exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks at Hammond . He was a member of the Masonic Order, the Knight Templar, Commandery and the Mystic Shrine, the Knights of Pythias, the Hammond County Club and the Hammond Chamber of Commerce. In 1916, he came to Florida. He was a partner in the Englewood Heights Development Co. in 1926. He married Lena Hohman on June 2, 1891.
