Hal Dean Moore, 72, of Hermiston died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at the Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Saturday, Jan 3, 2009 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born March 8, 1936, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Al Western Moore and Lillian Burke Moore. He married his high school sweetheart, Willa Quarles in 1957 in Hermiston. He worked for the Union Pacific Rairoad for many years.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 52 years, Willa Estella Moore of Hermiston; mother Lillian Moore of Hermiston; sons Terry Dean Moore and Hal Rae Moore, both of Portland; daughters Deana Dedera and Tandi Bicknell, both of Hermiston; brother Don Moore of Pendleton; sisters Jan Johnson of Saldotna, Alaska, and Sherry Hamilton of Albany; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Al Western Moore, and sister Mary Pasternick.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
