YANKTON, S.D. -- Ada M. Schow, 95, Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2008) at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, S.D.

She was born Feb. 2, 1913, to Jacob and Nancy (Strauser) Kutz in Cambridge. She was a member of the Methodist Church and youth groups. After high school, she moved to McCook in 1930 where she worked as a nanny.

On July 27, 1936, she married John W. Schow in Lincoln. They lived on a farm north of McCook for many years. In 1969, they moved into town where she worked at the McCook Schools Cafeteria.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Nov. 19, 1984; her parents, brothers, John, Charles and Harvey and sisters, Esther, Katie, Goldie and infant baby Ruth.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Schow of Laughlin, Nev.; daughters, Betty Horan of Las Vegas, Nev., and Rebecca Clyde of Crofton; brother, Albert Kutz of Eugene, Ore.; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Yankton, with the Rev. Dani Jo Ninke-Greaver officiating. Burial will Tuesday, at approximately 2 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. Pallbearers at the gravesite are Rick Ruggles, Jeff Ruggles, Jim Ruggles, Johnnie Reynolds, Sam Frandsen and Wally Derr.
