Mr. Gaines was born Nov. 1, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was a Baptist and moved to Arizona in 1949. He attended elementary school in Casa Grande, and Casa Grande Union High School.
He worked in construction for 30 years and was well known and liked by many in the community for his kindness and ability to help others. He died Jan. 10, 1995 in Casa Grande.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Johnson; a daughter, Dominique Gaines, of Casa Grande; three sons, Steven, of Phoenix and Tommy Jr. and Andre "Andy", both of Casa Grande; two sisters, Lendora Davis and Patricia Davis, both of Casa Grande; two brothers, Nathan, of Palo Alto, CA, and Herbert, of Sacramento, CA; and five grandchildren.
