HOWARD WORCESTER VICTIM OF TICK BITE
Ranch Hand of Big Hole Basin Succumbs to Spotted Fever
Howard Worcester, aged about 52 years, succumbed at Wisdom last Saturday morning following an illness of spotted fever, believed to have been caused from the bite of a tick. While taken ill in the basin, it is evident that the unfortunate man did not contract the disease in that section as it is said that he returned only a short time before being stricken, from a trip to the Bitteroot valley.
He had been engaged as a ranch hand in the Big Hole section intermittently for about 14 years and was well-known and held in high regard.
He is survived by his wife and three children, two of the children being twins six years of age. His mother and a brother reside in San Diego, Calif.
The funeral was held from the Brundage chapel Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery at Mountain View.
