SGT. EDWARD PAUL DREHER, nicknamed "Eddie," was named after longtime SPEH Family Friend and confidant, EDWARD VINCENT DePAUL SCHNEIDERHAHN, son of the noted liturgical artist Prof. Max Schneiderhahn, brought to St. Louis by Archbishop Peter R. Kenrick from Germany to help design and build new Catholic churches and their interiors primarily for (German and other) immigrants who were establishing new parishes in the Archdiocese.

Edward Schneiderhahn was a notable German-American St. Louisan, serving as President of the Board of Historic St. Mary of Victories Church and St. Louis Archdiocesan Attorney. Max Kaiser, Jr., incorporated sections of his 1904 World's Fair diary in the movie honoring the Fair's 100th Anniversary, "The World's Greatest Fair," in 2004.

EDDIE DREHER was killed in the Battle of the Bulge and buried for a short time in a provisional military cemetery in Luxembourg. Aunt Tillie and Uncle Joe made the decision to have him returned to St. Louis, where a Funeral Mass and burial with full military honors was accorded him on the SPEH lot at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
