William & Gertrude Gose, ages 28 & 24, owned a home Jeffersonville, Tazewell Co, VA. They had been married four years; Gertrude had give birth to one child, Stuart A., age 3. William was a Minister of the Gospel.

"Rev. Mr. Gose Returns.
Rev. Mr. Gose and family arrived here Wednesday night from Dungannon, where Mrs. Gose and the children have been for the past two months. After conference Mr. Gose went to Dungannon to visit home folks and to accompany his wife and children here. A number of folks had gone to the parsonage, carried a nice supper and were ready to give the pastor and his wife a hearty welcome back to Maybeury."

Mrs. W.A. Gose, wife of Rev. Gose, of Charleston, well known in this vicinity, because of his services in the Methodist Holston conference, underwent an operation for tonsillitis at the Bluefield Sanitarium yesterday."


On April 5, 1930,
William A. & Gertrude H., ages 46 & 45, were renting a home on Johnson Bottom in Freeburn and Majestic, Pike Co, KY. William was a Methodist Minister. Their children were:
Stewart A., age 22, a public school teacher
Clara E., 17

Another member of the household included William's nephew, Joe B. Collins, age 4.

On April 15, 1940,
William A. & Gertrude H., ages 58 & 57, were renting a home in Kermit, Mingo Co, W VA where William served as Pastor of a Methodist Church. William's nephew, Joe B. Collins, age 14, still lived with them.

"MRS. GERTRUDE GOSE
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude H. Gose, 86, Matewan, will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Metewan Methodist Church with the Rev. Parker Ferguson officiating.

She died after a long illness Monday at the home of her son, Stewart A. Gose, assistant superintendent of Mingo County Schools.

Born April 9, 1883 in Russell County, Val, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Laura Powers Porter.

Mrs. Gose was married to the Rev. W.A. Gose, formerly pastor of the Matewan, Kermit and Freeburn Methodist Churches.

Survivors also include another son, Joe Collins Gose, Monument Beach, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. Clara Williams, Worcester, Mass.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and six great0grandchildren.

Friends may call at Chambers Funeral Home in Matewan after 6 p.m. today.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, at noon Friday."
