Marlene Gabriel Watts
Maiden, N.C. - Marlene Gabriel Watts, 70, of Summerow Road, Maiden, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.
Born April 2, 1938, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Wilvie Cash Gabriel and Mildred Ilene Whitener Gabriel.
Marlene was a member of First Baptist Church in Maiden. In addition to her parents, a son, Joel Watts; a brother, Charles Gabriel; and a sister, Jane Mehaffey, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Watts and wife, Gaye, of Hickory and grandchildren, Craig and Leah and Jeff Watts and wife, Valerie, of Maiden and Davis; a daughter, Joy W. Bebber and husband, Michael, of Maiden, and grandsons, Seth and Nolan; and a sister, Gwen Beatty of Sherrills Ford.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Maiden, with the Rev. Barry Pierce officiating.
Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, today, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Maiden.
