Myrtle Ballinger, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away December 30, 2008. Visitation noon to 1 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009, at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland, Independence, Mo., with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial immediately following in Mound Grove Cemetery.

Myrtle L. Ballinger, 85, of Independence, died December 30th, 2008 at her home. She was born in Courtney, MO, and lived in Independence nearly all her life. Myrtle Ballinger graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1941. She worked at the Independence Sanitarium for 21 years and then retired in 1973.
Mrytle was preceded in death by her husband, Everett M. Ballinger in 1990.
Her survivors include, two daughters, Donna L. Johnson of the home; Deana J. Briner and son-in-law Tom Briner of Wentzville, MO; four grandchildren, Michael T. Gardner of Independence, MO, Michelle Holmes and husband Michael Holmes, of Independence, MO, Angela Cruz and husband Robert Cruz of Blue Springs, MO, Shawn Briner and wife Jenny Briner of Dardenne Prairie, MO; eleven great-grandchildren, Tony and Benjamin Gardner, Makenna Holmes, Justin, Shelby, Joseph, Blake, and Makayla Cruz, Tommy, Marty, and Jackie Briner; two great great-grandchlidren, Alizay and Alexis Gardner.
Myrtle was loved and cherished very much and will be missed greatly!

Visitation will be held from 12-1:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2008 at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel 509 S. Noland Rd. Independence, MO 64050. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial immediately following in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO.
