Interment was in the Malakoff cemetery. The Brady Shelton American Legion Post of Athens and the Tyler Legion Post conducted military funeral rites at the grave.
Deceased had been a patient at the Hines, Illinois hospital for several months, having been transferred there from a government hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife and six children.
Mr. Jackson, who served overseas during the World War, formerly worked in the Cayuga oil field.
