A family member remembers that her grandfather Pleasant Sublett passed away at the home of her folks when she was small child, perhaps 6 or 7 years old or about 1893. He was buried in Branson Cemetery , Loveland ,Pottawattamie County.Iowa.
From information on the birth of his children , it is known that Pleasant Sublett lived in Clinton , Gentry and Andrew Counties of Missouri. In a letter written to a relative it stated. "Pleasant Sublett was a wealthy land owner in Missouri. The carpet baggers ran him out." It was then that he crossed the state line in to Iowa soon after the end of the Civil War.
