John Henry Snaza, 60, of West Concord, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at his home.
He was born February 9, 1948 in Owatonna the son of Henry and Rosella (Dengler) Snaza. John graduated from West Concord High School. He married Colleen Rasmussen March 14, 1970 at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Claremont. John later attended Police Academy at the Arden Hills Training Center. He spent many years in law enforcement working for the Dodge County Sheriff's Department and the Kenyon and West Concord Police Departments. He was also a journeyman electrician. John was a member of the Owatonna Eagle's Club.
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan. Win or lose, his support of Minnesota sports teams never wavered. He also enjoyed tinkering with tractors or automobiles. Above all, John's family was the most worthy of his time.
John is survived by his wife, Colleen Snaza of West Concord; daughters, Marie Bryngelson of West Concord, Jennifer (and Jeremy) Ellingson of West Concord, Jessica (and Ben) Quimby of West Concord; grandchildren, Alexis Bryngelson, Broderick Bryngelson, Kailey Ellingson, Kaeden Ellingson, Haevan Quimby, Bryar Quimby; brother, Robert Snaza of Dodge Center.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jolene.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Friday from 4-8pm with a vigil service at 7:30pm and at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on Saturday from 1-2pm. Funeral services will be held January 3, 2009 at 2:00pm at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in West Concord.
