She was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Harvel, Ill., the daughter of John H. and Hannah (Coen) Brown.
She married John R. Reed Feb. 19, 1938, in Springfield, Ill. He died Jan. 3, 1964.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Denis Altar Society. She quilted at the Ursuline Convent and at the Brighton Library and was also a member of the Ingersool Birthday Club and the Southwestern Senior Citizens.
Surviving are daughter Marilyn and Gary Christopher of Shipman; sons and spouses Pat and Edith Reed of Shipman, Chuck and Linda Reed of Shipman and Don and Kathleen Reed of Greenville; daughter-in-law Marie Reed of Wentzville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Lucille Lentz of Springfield and Sister Leola Brown, also of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by a son, John "Jack" Reed, three brothers, John, Elmer and Ray Brown, and three sisters, Bernice Reed, Hazel Beiermann and Lauretta Weitekamp.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at St. John's Catholic Church in Medora, where services will follow at 11 a.m. Fr. Raphael Paul will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in Shipman.
Memorials may be made to St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, St. John's Catholic Church or Masses.
