Ethel Gertrude (Meints) Riley, who was born on October 4, 1918, in Llewellyn, NE, went home to be with her Lord on December 27, 2008. Ethel lived on the family homestead until the young age of 16, when she ventured out on her own. Her first stop was a year and a half in the State of Iowa, followed by a move to Baton Rouge, LA. It was in Baton Rouge that she met and married her first husband, Robert John Mitchell Bryson (1895-1961). This marriage was followed by a move to Patterson, NJ and the birth of four children. After living in California for a number of years, Ethel moved to Washington State in 1963, where she met and married her second husband, Omer William Riley, on December 26, 1964.
Ethel is survived by her four children, Jean (Frank) Kulakowski, Grace (Robin) Maples, Kenneth Bryson and John (Roni) Holloway; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Precht Rose Chapel. Services have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
