Monday Rites Are Held Here For Mrs. Bloodworth
Mrs. J. R. Bloodworth of 400 Bois d' Arc Street, died at 7:39 o'clock Saturday night in Baylor Hospital, Dallas. Ill for the past ten months, she had been hospitalized four weeks at the time of her demise.
The funeral Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock was in the McKenzie United Methodist Church, with the church pastor, the Rev. H. V. Caraway and Dr. Harrison Baker of Greenville as the officiants. Cooper-Sorrells directed interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wade McKee, Thomas Ramsey, Frank Jones, Claud Langford, Bob Clark and W. E. Ford.
A native of the Lane community, Mrs. Bloodworth, the former Irene Nix, was born June 3, 1901, the daughter of the late Julius Nix and Araminto Rambo Nix.
She was married to J. R. Bloodworth at Lone Oak on April 21, 1919. He preceded her in death June 30, 1966.
A member of the McKenzie United Methodist Church, Mrs. Bloodworth was a member of the church's Women's Society of Christian Service, the Gideon Sunday School class and active in various organizations of the church.
Survivors include a son, R. E. Bloodworth of Rockwall; a daughter, Mrs. Lee Corrington of Aurelia, Iowa; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, J. H. Nix, Greenville; N. H. Nix, Campbell; Horace E. Nix, Houston, and E. G. Nix, Sweetwater, and three sisters, Mrs. Edgar Doyle, Dallas; Mrs. Lucille Thompson, New Boston and Mrs. Myrtle Ray of Greenville.
