He graduated from Marlborough High School, Hebron Academy and the University of Maine. He was associated with Marlborough Co-operative bank for 43 years. He was a life long member of the First Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the United Brethren Lodge AF&AM of Marlborough.
He was a avid golfer and belonged to Marlborough County Club.
He summered on Cape Cod and was a licensed Coast Guard Captain, member of the US Power Squadron and a former member of Monomoy yacht Club. He was survived by a son and a daughter.
