J.E. Cannon, 68, of Marion died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008 at his residence.
He was retired from the maintenance department at the Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Crayne Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Cannon of Marion; a son, Donald Cannon of Reo, Ind.; daughters, Bridget Porter of Evansville, Sharon Phelps of Marion and Cathy Deller of Evansville; brothers, Harley Cannon of Calvert City; Harold Cannon of Marion, David Cannon of Newburgh, Ind.; a sister, Dorothy Harmon of Louisville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lexie and Eula Hunt Cannon; a brother; and a sister.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 28 at Crayne Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Graham officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.

Myers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
