Ruby Isabelle Shannon Carmin, died at the Ft. Dodge Hospital after a long illness. Born Oct. 19, 1908, near Sumner, Mo., Ruby married Evert Carmin on Dec. 31, 1927 at Dodge City, Kansas, and is the mother of 13 children.
They lived at Stafford, for about 20 years, before moving to Beaver, then to Hoisington, Ks., about 2 months before her death.
Survivors include her husband; sons: Charles, Ellinwood; Everett, Hays; Keith, Denver, Colo.; Larry and Dean, Tulsa, Okla.; James, Houston, Tex.; and Mark, Long Beach, Calif.; daughters: Mrs. Louise Kennedy, Valley Center; Mrs. Joyce Gordon and Mrs. Connie Schrock, Hutchinson; Mrs. Carrol Walborn, Tonganoxie; brothers: Virgil Shannon, Penrose, Colo.; Earl Shannon, Valier, Mont.; Carl Shannon, Huntsville, Mo.; Glen and LeRoy Shannon, Moberly, Mo.,; sisters: Mrs. Leland (Opal) Monroe, Sebastopol, Calif.; Mrs. Sidney (Hazel) Downey, Paola, Ks.; Mrs. Leo (Irene) Evoy, Saginaw, Mich.; 29 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Ks, with Rev. G. Weise officiating. Burial in Stafford Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
