CRAWFORD, Mrs. Margaret Christenberry, 77, passed away early Monday morning at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Providence Methodist Church with the Rev. E.Z. Baxter and the Rev. D.L. Folsom officiating. Burial will be in the Fellowship Cemetery, Anderson-Brown Funeral Home of Marion directing. Mrs. Crawford was the widow of Roy J. Crawford, and a life-long resident of the Morgan Springs Community. She was the daughter of William Andrew and Annie O'Neal Christenberry, well known pioneers of Perry County. Mrs. Crawford has spent a full life of service and influence to her community, and to her church where for 75 of her 77 years, she held the honor of being the daughter of, wife of and the mother of, members of the Board of Stewards of the Providence Methodist Church. The deceased was the mother of William O. Crawford, President of the Southern United Life Insurance Company of Montgomery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James M. Barnes, Marion, and Mrs. Lewis H. McCurdy, Lowndesboro; four sons, Norman R. Crawford, Dr. M.L. Crawford and David L. Crawford, all of Marion, and William O. Crawford, Burksville; two sisters, Mrs. J.L. Massingale, Moundsville, and Mrs. R.R. Thomas, Greensboro; a brother, J.H. Christenberry Sr., Marion; and eighteen grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be William Christenberry, Roy C. Crawford, F.M. Crawford, J.H. Christenberry Jr., Boyd Christenberry, Vernon Thomas, Edwin Christenberry and Frank Morrison.
