In the wee hours before dawn on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, Stacy Rene� Beumer Thompson, 35, of Hardy, Va., passed away. She fought long and hard for over a year before succumbing to the ravages of Adrenal cancer, giving up the pain and suffering of this life for a better place. Stacy was born in Roanoke, Va., on October 26, 1973, graduated from Ferrum College, and worked in the Roanoke area. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, David Wayne Thompson; his father and mother, Wayne and Jan Thompson; her father, Howard L. Beumer and his wife, Patricia; her mother, Carol L. O'Neill and fiance, Tom Worley; her brother, Hunter S. Beumer, all of Roanoke; one grandmother, Eleanor R. Lee, of Harrisonburg, Va.; various aunts, uncles, cousins; one niece; and many friends. She is also survived by her four-legged children, cat, Jag; and two horses, Rascal and Wyatt. Stacy loved life, the out of doors, animals of all sorts and the cares and troubles of the world were non-existent while on the back of Rascal. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009, at Oyler's Chapel Cemetery on Hardy Road with the Rev. Dr. Ken Scoggins officiating.
