Ruth Victoria Parks, 99, of Aurora, WV passed away October 22, 2015 at Dennett Road Manor. She was born August 27, 1916 in Horse Shoe Run, WV a daughter of the late Duncan Alexander and Ola Mae Calcamp Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald A. Parks in 1989, also preceding her in death, three brothers, Walter A. Shaffer, Carl E. Shaffer, and Delmar R. Shaffer, and one sister, Nina L. Parsons. She is survived by one son, James A. (Cherlyn) Parks, Eglon, WV, two daughters, Janet Ruth Warner, Salem, WV, and Doris E. Crawford, Burke, VA, six grandchildren, Sherry (Mike) Sloss, Tammy (Mike) Markwood, Cynthia Parks D.D.S., Michelle (Dowain) Ford, Scott (Sarah) Warner, and Jill (Rene) Deschner, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Parks worked as a nurse’s aide for Hopemont Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and flowers. She made over 150 lap throws for the veterans in Clarksburg.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, October 23, 2015 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, October 24, 2015 at Texas Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Van Marsceau officiating. Interment will follow in the Eglon cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
