Funeral Services for Guy E Young, 62, former Cunningham Creek, town of Canisteo farmer, were held recently in Holt County, Nebraska. He resided near O'Neill, Nebraska.
Mr and Mrs Young occupied the Patrick Riley farm, Cunningham Creek for about 10 years. They moved back to Nebraska about 1940. Mr Young was the son of Clark and Maggie Young, pioneer residents of Holt County, Nebraska. And was born March 26 1890. He died Wednesday, November 5.
Most of his youth was spent in Opportunity, Nebraska. He was married May 18, 1916 to Edith M Rouse. Of six children, two sons, Lester and Richard, died in military service in WWII. He was an active member of the Atkinson Wesleyan Methodist Church and superintendent of Dist 127 Sunday School. He is survived by his wife, two sons Stanley of Kelley Field, Texas, and Harold of Eskridge, Kansas. Two daughters, Mrs Carol Summerer of Chambers, Nebraska and Mrs Walter Huston of Kansas City, Missouri. Four grandchildren, five brothers.

GUY YOUNG, 63, DIES IN NORFOLK HOSPITAL AFTER LONG ILLNESS Guy Young, 63, a long time resident of Holt County, died on Wednesday in a Norfolk Hospital, after an illness of several years. The body was brought to O'Neill and is at Biglin's Funeral Home.
No definite funeral plans had been made Wednesday evening, but services will probably be held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church in O'Neill.
Mr Young was born at Seward, Nebraska. He was married to Miss Edith Rouse in O'Neill on May 18, 1916 and three sons and two daughters were born to them.
Two sons were killed in action during World War II, PVt Richard C Young died May 23,1944 at the Anzio Beachhead and Marine Sgt Ermund L Young died on Okinawa on April 24,1945.
Surviving are his widow, one son, Stanley, who is with the Air Force and stationed at Kelly Field, Texas; two daughters, Mrs Carroll (Mary) Summerer of Ewing and Mrs Walter (Dorothy) Huston of Kansas City, Missouri four grandchildren; brothers Walter, Ralph and Orton of O'Neill, Paul of Doniphan, Nebraska; and Robert of Onak, Washington.

Nov 13, 1952 Holt County Independence O'Neill, Nebr SERVICES FOR GUY E YOUNG HELD SATURDAY AT METHODIST CHURCH Funeral services for Guy E Young were conducted at the O'Neill Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, Nov 8th at 2 o'clock with Rev Smith. Mr C G Terrill of Page, a long time friend, commented on Mr Young's life and read the obituary. A mixed quartet from the church brought the songs.
Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Johring, James Van Every, Lloyd Whaley, Harry Page, Bob Strong, and Harold Blain.
Guy Ernest Young, son of Clark and Maggie Young, pioneer resident of Holt County, was born March 26, 1890 and departed this life Nov 5, 1952, attaining the age of 62 years, 7 months and 12 days. He grew to manhood in the Opportunity community.
On May 18,1916 he was united in marriage to Edith M Rouse, to which union were born six children, of these, two sons, Lester and Richard preceded their father in death, giving their lives for our country during World War II.
During his entire life, he was engaged in farming, a few years in western New York and the remainder of the time in Holt County.
Guy was a devoted father, an ardent and faithful Christian worker and a friend to all. For several years he served as the superintendent of a Sunday School that met in the school house of District 127 of Holt County. For several years prior to his last illness he was an active member of the Atkinson Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife at the home in O'Neill; four children, Stanley of Kelly Air Force Base, Texas; Harold of Eskridge, Kansas; Mary Summerer of the Chambers community; Dorothy Huston of Kansas City, Missouri. Four grandchildren, five brothers and a host of relatives and friends.
