He was Born May 12, 1927, in Arkansas to Mack and Minerva Humphrey McGaha. He was Raised in Alabama. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He was Retired from Furniture Manufacturing and had worked at several Furniture Companies in the Sample Room. He was a Mason and a Gideon. He was a Member of Union Hill United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Club.
He was a Lay Speaker, a Sunday School Teacher for 50 years and a Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He Served on many Church Boards and was Instrumental in Building Sunday School Rooms and other Additions to the Church.
Survivors include his Wife of 62 years, Annie Ruth Messer McGaha of New Albany; 2 Daughters, Ann McGaha Gray, and Husband, Gary, of Etta and Becky McGaha Foreman, and Husband, Troy, of New Albany; a Son, John R. "Bob" McGaha, and Wife, Beverly, of New Albany; 2 Sisters, Effie Mae Milsaps of Huntsville, Ala., and Clara Scaggs of Texarkana, Texas; 4 Brothers, Dave McGaha, Claude McGaha and Clifton McGaha, all of Huntsville, Ala., and Tommy McGaha of Chicago; 9 Grandchildren, Jonathan Callicutt, Leslie Riddle, Josh Foreman, Brittany McGaha, Joseph McGaha, Jerrod Crawley, Braden Gray, Hailey Gray and Adam Gray; 7 Great Grand Children, Maggie Smithey, Tyson Smithey, Isabella Riddle, Sam Callicutt, Emma Claire Callicutt, Jake Foreman and Cooper Crawley.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Messer, Pat James, Ike Williams, Henry Potts, Gale Manning and Dale Manning.
