John Barnett "Barney" Farmer, was the son of Bird Andrew and Nancy Jane Curnutt Farmer. He was married three times, his first wife was Sarah Buchanan, in which he was the father of at least two Children, Sarah passed away on Aug 14, 1874 in Newton County, Arkansas.

John then married Lucy Eoff, Lucy passed away in Newton County, Arkansas. They were the parent's of three children.

John's thrid wife was Margaret Catherine Eoff, the couple were married on May 7, 1882 in Newton County, Arkansas. They were the parent's of six children.
