Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Betty was born Friday, July 3, 1925, in Red River County, Texas, to George and Isabell Chapel Wooten. She attended school in Detroit, Texas. She worked as a cook and dishwasher for the White Rock Café for many years. Betty married Clement McCormick in 1942 in Detroit, Texas; he preceded her in death. She later married Vernon Dutton in 1965 in Slaton, Texas. Betty loved making quilts and ceramics. She enjoyed fishing and working in the café.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and a granddaughter, Gina Jones.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Beverly McCormick of Lubbock, Texas, and Randy and Donna Dutton of Marlow; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances and Richard Milbern of Slaton, Texas, and Martha Jones of Marlow; nine grandchildren; eight great-grand-children; a great-great-grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Martha Wooten of Kilgore, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
