William O. Ogle 86, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at The Indiana Heart Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born May 14, 1922 in Noblesville to Clarence and Clara (Johnson) Ogle.
He married Peggy Hopwood in Noblesville on June 24, 1945. She preceded him in death on June 12, 1990.
William was a retired general contractor. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. A turret gunner in a B-17, he was shot down on his third flight over Germany. He was a POW on the death march in 13 different prison camps in one year. He was a 32nd degree mason and member of Mystic Tie Lodge #398, and the Scottish Rite.
William was preceded in death by his wife, daughter Billiejane Ogle and son Raleigh Samuel Ogle.
He is survived by daughters Lilly Marlene (Robert) Howard, Indianapolis, Betty Ruth (Clayton) Krueger, Verdigre, Nebraska, and Oneida Lucy (Mohammed) Sheikh, Indianapolis; son William E. (Elaine) Ogle, Fishers; sister Sarah Frankie Leach, Teachy, North Carolina; granddaughters Wendy Sue (Phil) Carrell, Ingles, Darla Ann Abbot, Indianapolis, and Ashley Shianne Ogle-Moore, Seminole, Florida; and great grandchildren Autumn Rose and Andrew Elexander Carrell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Noblesville Pilgrim Holiness Church, 1413 Westfield Rd. (Highway 32), Noblesville.
Interment will follow in Crownland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time in the church.
