Dr. Sheppard Rites Slated For Wednesday

Funeral services for Dr. J. J. Sheppard, 79, who died in Memorial hospital Monday, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Frost Baptist church.

The rites will be conducted by Rev. C. C. Ellis, pastor, assisted by Rev. Frank Williams, pastor, assisted by Rev. Frank Williams, pastor of the Frost Methodist church. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Blooming Grove with Masons in charge. He was a member of the Frost Baptist church.

Native of the Pecan community near Blooming Grove, Dr. Sheppard was a chiropractor, barber and had been justice of the peace, Precinct 5, for several years. He had barbered at Kerens, Powell, Corsicana and Blooming Grove and was a graduate of the Palmer School of Chiropractry, Davenport, Iowa.

Surviving are his wife of Frost; two sons, Dr. Joseph J. Sheppard, Jr., teacher of fluid dynamics at New York State University, Port Jefferson, N. Y., and a consultant of the Rand Corporation, Santa Monica, Calif., and Jack F. Sheppard, branch claims manager of an insurance firm, Brenham; seven grandchildren and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be J. C. Young, T. S. Hooser, Jimmy Hooser, W. B. Denn, Guy Tullos, and Joe Parum.
