MONROE -- Robert P. Gaddy, 79, a retired farmer of the Faulks Community passed away at his home Thursday night. He was the son of the late Robert A. and Susan Bennett Gaddy. Mr. Gaddy was married to the former Elizabeth Bolton who died July 12, 1961. Survivors include three daughters, Miss Fannie Mae Gaddy, of the home, Mrs. Parvin Moore, of Charlotte, Mrs. Heath Baker of Rt. 1 Wingate; five sons, Paul Gaddy, of Rt. 1 Wingate, Emmett Gaddy, of Kannapolis, Charlie Gaddy, Carl Gaddy and Boyce Gaddy, all of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Griffin, of Marshville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Vashti Hinson and Mrs. Annie Rushing, both of Wingate. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. from Wingate Methodist Church, with the Rev. H. L. Creech, and the Rev. J. B. Little officiating. Interment will be at Faulks Baptist Church Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Masonic Order of which Mr. Gaddy was a member. The body was taken from McEwen Funeral Home to the residence to remain until one hour before the services.
