Carrie Newcomb Foster Died At Home July 4th

Carrie Newcomb Foster, wife of Chester C. Foster, died at her home July 4.

Mrs. Foster was born December 6, 1894, in Charlotte County, and lived near Saxe most of her life. She is survived by her husband, Chester C. Foster, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Newcomb; four brothers, Tucker Newcomb, of Saxe; Ralph and Irving Newcomb of Richmond, and Sam Newcomb of Chase City; two sisters, Mrs. C.E. Lacks of Saxe, and Mrs. Paul Huss, of Chase City; five sons, Stuart, Chester, Jr., who is in the service overseas, Kenneth, Samuel and Leroy Foster; six daughters, Ruth Foster, Mrs. Woodrow Ashworth of Richmond; Marion, Charlotte, Shirley and Barbara, of Saxe.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. George H. Orser at Hebron Church July 6, at 3 p.m. A host of friends and relatives attended.

Pallbearers were: Alec Card, Oscar Bailey, John Moorefield, Charlie Vaughan, C.R. (Buster) Langford and Will Moore.
