Friend H. (Harlow) Smith, 90, died Thursday, June 4, at Prairie du Sac after a long illness. He was a longtim Lodi resident and for 20 years he operated a hotel here. He was also a former watchmaker and painter.

In 1902 he married Nellie Cartwright. She died in 1931. In 1937 he married Florence Brockman.

Surviving are two sons, Vernard, Madison; and Clarence, Newark, Del; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Brown, Redfield, S. Dakota; and Mrs. Earl Pullen, Prairie do Sac; two stepsons, Jerome and Edwin Brockman, both of Tucson, Arizona; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Elmer Zeman and Mrs. Earl Krause, both of Sun Prairie; and Mrs. Al Wolff, Madison; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Schwoegler Funeral Home, Sauk City.
