11/3/2012 - The following information was added by Mark E. Thomas; thank you!
James A. Winn Sr.
Birth: 26 Jun 1812, Rockingham, Richmond County, North Carolina
Death: 27 Apr 1881, Benton, Massac County, Illinois
-----
The Cemetery Sign that is on his shows him on the very bottom and there are two issues with this sign.
First, the Birth Date, the sign shows his birth as 1838, but that is his son's, James A Winn, Jr., Birth Date, and that is where the Suffix, "Jr." also came from.
The Sign needs to be Corrected to James A. Winn, Sr., with a Birth Date "1812" not "1838". I have written to Gale Red about the Sign issues for James A Winn Sr.

9/8/2014 - Melinda Hiller Dickrell added:
If the birth of this James is 1812 as suggested, his wife Mary Ann Primrose Winn is buried at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin Co., IL. She is my 4th great grandmother. This also explains why she is not buried with her husband. If it is the younger James, Mary is his mother.
